Job Title: Assistant Film Editor

Overview: Parallax Post & North Star Studios are leading film production and post-production companies, creating high-quality content that inspires, educates, and entertains audiences around the world. We are seeking a talented and experienced Assistant Film Editor to join our team, working on film projects for both companies. The successful candidate will have experience in Avid and DaVinci, as well as a strong passion for visual storytelling and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of creative professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Film Editor in assembling and editing raw footage into a polished final product that meets the director's vision and the company's standards.

  • Use Avid and DaVinci to edit and color grade the film to achieve a consistent visual style and tone.

  • Organize and manage media assets, including footage, sound files, and graphics, to ensure smooth post-production workflow.

  • Collaborate with the sound team to ensure that all visual and audio elements of the film are consistent with the vision of the project.

  • Stay up to date with the latest editing techniques and software to ensure that the company stays at the forefront of the industry.

  • Assist in the delivery of final products to clients, including conforming final edits, exporting, and preparing delivery formats.


  • 1+ years of experience as an Assistant Film Editor working on feature films or documentaries.

  • Expertise in using Avid and DaVinci for film editing and color grading.

  • Knowledge of post-production workflows and delivery formats.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with visual effects and motion graphics software is a plus.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
